Word: Sphere of Influence

What other countries/cultures influence the American culture? How?

Today we took notes and did some Type Is on Europe imperializing India and China.

Age of Imperialism Computer Lab

While in the computer lab, you will use the internet to help your create a pamphlet that can be used in the Loy Norrix library to inform the rest of the students about Europe imperializing Africa and Asia. (20 Points)

• On the front, you will want to create a title. Also, include a hand-drawn picture of what you would think imperialism would look like.  (5 points)
• On the inside you will have three sections.

China How was this country imperialized? Who imperialized it? ( 1 point each) Draw a picture of an event that occurred during the imperialization and include a caption (2 points) Include 2 reasons why imperializing was good for the nation that imperialized  (1 point each) 2 reasons why it was negative for the nation being imperialized (1 point each)

Africa How was this continent  imperialized? Who imperialized it? ( 1 point each) Draw a picture an event that occurred during the imperialization and include a caption (2 points) Include 2 reasons why imperializing was good for the continent that imperialized  (1 point each) 2 reasons why it was negative for the continent being imperialized (1 point each)

India How was this country imperialized? Who imperialized it? ( 1 point each) Draw a picture an event that occurred during the imperialization and include a caption (2 points) Include 2 reasons why imperializing was good for the nation that imperialized  (1 point each) 2 reasons why it was negative for the nation being imperialized (1 point each)

Homework: After you have finished your pamphlet, you will write a Type III. In your Type III you will argue whether Europe imperializing Africa and Asia was good or bad. This should be:

• At least one page and typed. You may use a font size no larger than 14. This can be doubled spaced. (You may also write this. If you write this, it should be one page FRONT AND BACK)
  
• In your paper, you will want to say the good or bad effects of imperialism.
• You will want to use and circle the following words (circle AFTER you print): Imperialism, rebellion, import, export, modernize.  After CAREFULLY reading your paper, print it out.
• Your FCAs are:
